BPPV is for Sissies!
Well, BPPV isn’t literally for sissies – what we mean is that if you think you’re already treating balance and vestibular dysfunctions in your practice, you’re still not offering the full spectrum of
Most physical therapists think balance and vestibular management is BPPV management, but it’s not. Far from it. What makes FYZICAL’s balance and vestibular program different is our willingness to treat
Vestibulopathy causes dizziness symptoms in patients and most physical therapists don’t know what to do for the patient if it’s not BPPV. FYZICAL has two ways to determine the challenge:
- A theoretical framework called Sensory Mismatch Theory, and
- A conceptual framework called the FYZICAL Balance Paradigm
This allows our rehab therapists to determine the cause of dizziness or imbalance and create the appropriate plan of care. If you know the sensory mismatch (the patient is overlying on vision or overlying in surface balance), then you can use the conceptual framework to treat them.
FYZICAL has five protocols for each unique mismatch that
Because the FYZICAL Balance Paradigm is based on condition and stage, it allows you to demonstrate progression when proving medical necessity to insurance companies. It also helps patients to visualize their progress – which is a tremendous motivator. In the past, dizzy patients have been frustrated because they couldn’t seem to get better or improve their condition with therapy. Now, FYZICAL patients are watching their condition progress with their therapist and feeling excited to finally feel some relief.
At FYZICAL, we often hear physical therapists say, “I already do balance,” but then after a lengthy discussion, it’s always the same: they only do BPPV, and they’re not doing enough to actually help their dizzy patients. We say we have the #1 Balance and Vestibular Program in the world because it’s true. There are no better protocols and methodologies than the ones we train our therapists in at FYZICAL.
We can’t give away EVERY secret online, but you need to learn more about the FYZICAL balance and vestibular program and see if it’s right for your private practice. If you care about your dizzy and imbalanced patients, you’ll look into this opportunity. If you don’t, your competitors will!
