The letter was an invitation to a PT Revolution event in Las Vegas, NV. I did not explore anything about FYZICAL prior to signing up. I decided it was reasonable airfare to Las Vegas and if nothing else, this would be an excuse for a weekend away.

I was at a point in my business where I was focused on growth and I was searching for new ways to do this. My general philosophy was I was not growing my practice operating in the same fashion I always had, I was not meeting my goals, and I needed to seek new ways of thinking in order to achieve new heights in my business.

The event I went to actually featured a tour of some FYZICAL centers, and I admit, I almost didn’t get on the tour bus the first day to go see the clinics just because I’m always leery about a dog and pony show. Shockingly, this was the best part of my trip to Vegas—seeing other clinics and seeing similar patients to mine, but with new methods and ideas. At the presentation, there was a combination of new ideas – tracking numbers that I’d never thought mattered before–as well as ideas that very well meshed with my clinical practice. It became easy to see that the culture of FYZICAL was the same as my culture, with a significantly more fine-tuned business approach.

Since joining FYZICAL, I now have resources I could not afford on my own, relationships across the country, and an eclectic range of bright minds completing the same journey with me. From a knowledge standpoint, I have substantially increased my clinical knowledge, in addition to building an extensive business knowledge after attending FYZICAL Lab, my one-on-one strategic planning session, and our annual event, Brand Triumph.

Originally, I was a bit nervous about changing my name. Looking back at what I know today, being nervous was silly.

Before FYZICAL, I felt like a dog chasing its own tail. I was tracking a few data points, putting together some marketing pieces to get to doctors and patients while having minimal success with growth, but every time I tried something new, it was whatever I could come up with on my own during my down time at the clinic. I was hopping from one idea to the next. Hiring help when it seemed busy, but not really knowing what defined “busy”. From a clinical standpoint, I was seeking out and trying to service all types of patients–whomever wanted to pay.

Since joining FYZICAL, I have specific tracking in place to know the health of my business. My marketing plan is truly defined, and clinically, I have narrowed my focus to types of patients that fit my practice and make sense for business. I now have a plan for marketing, starting with internal processes of maximizing existing referrals and then seeking new referrals. I was dumbfounded when I recognized how much “lost revenue” was sitting within the walls of my clinic. I now have a plan for staffing, knowing what “busy” actually means and when to add more people.
