In 2013, my business declined by $70k to its lowest level in 7 years: $680k.

At the time, I attributed our losses to factors out of my control such as, the implementation of MPPR, declining reimbursements and awful insurance providers, large hospitals monopolizing my marketplace, and physician owned therapy centers. All of these things were easier to blame than my lack of business education, which I later realized was the underlying reason my business was not prospering. Because of this lack of knowledge, I had zero systems in place and the practice ran entirely around me.

I first heard about FYZICAL when I received a letter in the mail from them inviting me to an event called “PT Revolution”. They were promoting a nationally recognized business expertby the name of Jim Abrams, who was entering physical therapy to disrupt our profession with a new business model and I thought to myself, “What does this guy even know about physical therapy?” At the end of the day, I decided to attend because I had nothing to lose, only to gain by listening to their plan.

FYZICAL taught me that you cannot manage what you don’t measure and the only way to be successful in physical therapy is by becoming a good manager.

To keep this short, it was a compelling plan. So compelling that I aligned with FYZICAL in June of 2014. Immediately after aligning with FYZICAL, I went through training and quickly realized how inefficient my business really was. To make matters worse, I wasn’t measuring anything in my business. FYZICAL taught me that you cannot manage what you don’t measure and the only way to be successful in physical therapy is by becoming a good manager.

During my first month with FYZICAL, I increased my revenue by 30%. During my second month, I grew another 30% and then another 40% by the end of the third month. For the first time as a private practice business owner, I had help and support whenever I needed it. Help was just a phone call away. I followed a step-by-step roadmap for implementing the FYZICAL model and for the first time in my career I had a proven and evidenced methodology to lead me to success.

During the first 6 months I was a member of FYZICAL, I reversed my declining business trend and ended up completing the year at $730k in revenue, up from my 7 year low the year before at $680k. Here’s the motivating part: my first full year with FYZICAL, 2015, I closed out slightly above $3 million in revenue. That’s right, over $3 million dollars. Last year (2016), I closed out the year above $4 million. I would not be where I am or who I am today without FYZICAL. I no longer treat patients in my practice; I manage my business as a businessman. My ambitions are to build a $25 million private practice within the next 5 years and FYZICAL has helped me create a plan to do it.”
